Cooper increases processing rate at Orbost plant

Cooper Energy on August 2 said that the average processing rate of the Orbost gas processing plant in July was 49.1 TJ/d, up 8% month/month.

The company last month completed the acquisition of the Orbost plant from energy infrastructure company APA. The deal was announced in January this year. APA will operate the plant on Cooper’s behalf under a transitional services agreement until the plant’s major hazard facilities license is transferred to Cooper.

Cooper said that the root cause analysis to understand why the plant’s polisher unit’s performance degraded is ongoing with plans for reinstatement underway. The indicative timing for the polishing unit to return to service is the end of August, it added.
