Oman Oil JV Completes Gas-fired Power Plant in South Korea

GS EPS, a joint independent power producer associate of Oman Oil Company (OOC) and Korean GS Holdings, has completed the construction of the fourth phase of a gas-fired 900MW combined cycle power plant in Dangjin, Chungnam province, South Korea, Oman Oil said August 20.

"This investment is part of the OOC’s integrated strategy to diversify its growing investments internationally," said the CEO of Oman Oil Company, Isam bin Saud Al Zadjali. 

GS EPS also operates three other gas-fired combined-cycle power plants, with a combined capacity of 1,500MW, as well as a 100MW renewable energy power plant in Dangjin. GS EPS has also constructed a 30MW biomass power plant in Dezhou Shandong, China.

GS Holdings holds 70% in GPS while Oman Oil Company holds the remaining 30%.
