Svein Liknes will join Okea on June 1 after leaving Aker BP, a fellow Norwegian producer where he serves as vice president for special projects and due diligence. He previously worked as acting CEO and head of operations of Aker Energy, another Aker unit.

"As founder, investor and existing CEO, I am very pleased that Svein is taking on this job," Haugane said in a statement. "A good foundation and a sound strategy for growth has been established, and I am confident that Svein together with the management team will continue the journey and add significant value to the society and shareholders going forward."
