Oilex Updates Cambay Well Operations

Oilex, in an update of its Cambay-76H horizontal well, has said that milling and clean out of fracture stimulation stages 8, 7, 6 and 5 have been successfully completed.

As a result, four of the eight fracture stimulation stages have now been fully opened and one partially opened.

Once milling of the remaining four stages has been completed, production tubing will be installed. The well will then be flowed to surface for clean-up and production testing.

The Cambay-76H well was drilled to test the potential of Y Zone interval of the Eocene tight intervals.

Netherland Sewell and Associates had on 11 October 2011 estimated that the 2 shallower of 6 tight reservoirs within the Cambay contract area (X and Y) could hold combined unrisked contingent resources of 494 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of gas and 83 million barrels (MMbbl) of oil.
