NYK, Partners Dissolve LNG Bunkering JV

Japanese shipping firm NYK and its partners have dissolved Marine LNG Zeebrugge, a joint venture company created to manage the brand Gas4Sea for the LNG bunkering of ships, NYK said on November 6.

“The partners additionally agreed to transfer all shares of the exclusive vessel holding company for the LNG bunkering vessel (LBV) Engie Zeebrugge to NYK and make the holding company a wholly-owned subsidiary of NYK,” the company said. Marine LNG Zeebrugge was established in 2016 by NYK, French Engie, and Mitsubishi Corp.

NYK has changed the name of the LBV from Engie Zeebrugge to Green Zeebrugge. Built by Hanjin Heavy in South Korea, the vessel was delivered in 2017. Engie Zeebrugge performed in the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium.

NYK said it will start LNG-fuel bunkering business under a new scheme in the future.
