NuEnergy Gas to Drill Second CBM Pilot in Sumatra

NuEnergy Gas is preparing to drill company’s second pilot well in the Muara Enim Production Sharing Contract (PSC) in South Sumatra, Indonesia.

The second pilot well will be drilled and cased to a depth of 800 metres, with the primary coal seams located between 558 and 705 metres below the surface.

Upon completion the well will be connected to the pilot production plant located at the Muara Enim Pilot Well #1 site.

The company said that along with its local partner Pertamina, it is committed to the long-term development of this project and transforming Muara Enim PSC into a viable gas producing hub.

NuEnergy has three operated PSCs in Indonesia, two operated CBM and shale gas joint ventures in Tanzania and an Exclusive Prospecting Licence in Malawi for CBM and shale gas.
