NuEnergy Gas Drills Second Pilot at Muara Enim in Sumatra

NuEnergy Gas has successfully drilled the second coal bed methane pilot well to the depth 802 metres and has identified a total of 46 metres of net coal seams at the Muara Enim Production Sharing Contract (PSC) area in South Sumatra, Indonesia.

The pilot production site is currently being prepared for connection of the two pilot wells ahead of pre plan of development approval which will enable early gas sales, the company said.

The company, along with its local partner Pertamina, it is committed to the long-term development of this project and transforming Muara Enim PSC into a viable gas producing hub.

NuEnergy holds a 40% interest with Pertamina controlling the remaining 60%.

NuEnergy has three operated PSCs in Indonesia, two operated CBM and shale gas joint ventures in Tanzania and an Exclusive Prospecting Licence in Malawi for CBM and shale gas.
