Novatek Doubles Capacity of Purovsky Plant

Russia’s Novatek announced on Thursday it successfully expanded capacity of the Purovsky plant from five to 11 million tons.

The achievement was unveiled after the last two new gas condensate stabilization trains were launched.

“We have successfully completed another strategic project and achieved balance between our gas condensate production potential and processing capacity. Expansion of the Purovsky plant was implemented on time and on budget,” Leonid Mikhelson, Chairman of the Management Board of Novatek, said in a note.

The Purovsky plant was launched in 2005. With the second stage of the project finished in 2008, the capacity of the plant increased from 2 to 5 million tons per annum. The plant processes de-ethanized (unstable) gas condensate produced at Novatek’s fields.
