Norwegian Gas Output Down on Forecast

Norway's gas production was down in October as strikes by unions and the Hammerfest LNG plant fire at the end of September kept gas reserves in the ground. Actual production was 8.9bn m³, compared with forecast 10.3bn m³, according to data published November 23 by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD).

That brings total gas production for the first ten months of the year to 92.3bn m³ compared with the forecast 97.1bn m³. while last year it had produced 100.8bn m³ over the same period.

Oil production was also down, the NPD said, as the government cut oil output in May in response to the low price.
