Norwegian Car Carriers orders two LNG-fuelled car carriers

Norwegian Car Carriers (NOCC) has signed an agreement with CIMC Raffles Shipyard in China for the construction of two LNG dual fuel car carriers, it announced on February 21 via a LinkedIn post.

These vessels will be designed as dual fuel-LNG type, equipped to run on LNG, and are ammonia-ready, as certified by the Det Norske Veritas (DNV) with a D-Notation. NOCC anticipates taking delivery of the inaugural vessel in 2025.

Founded in 2010 through the amalgamation of Eidsiva Rederi and Dyvi Shipping, Oslo-based NOCC has evolved to become a key player in the shipping industry. In 2023, the company transitioned into a wholly-owned subsidiary of JP Morgan.
