Norway's January Gas Sales up

Norway sold 11.22bn m3 of gas in January, the upstream regulator Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) said February 19. This was an increase of 500mn m3 from the previous month and also up from the forecast 11.08bn m³; but down from the 11.24bn m³ that it sold  in January 2018.

Last year producers operating in Norway sold a total 121.56bn m³ and the NPD expects to beat this, marginally, with 121.72bn m³ this year. However last year it was optimistic: it had expected sales to reach 124.44bn m³. Nearly all the gas is sold to the UK and continental Europe, but some being used locally and all the output from the Snohvit field is liquefied for sales worldwide.
