Norway Grants Wintershall North Sea Drilling Permit

Norwegian authorities granted Germany’s Wintershall Norge AS a drilling permit for well 10/4-1 in the south-eastern part of the North Sea. 

‘The drilling programme for well 10/4-1 relates to the drilling of a wildcat well in production licence 734. Wintershall Norge AS is the operator with a 40 per cent ownership interest. The other licensees are Centrica Resources (Norge) AS and Lundin Norway AS with 30 per cent each. Production licence 734 was awarded in APA 2013’ reads a note released on Tuesday by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate.  

The area in this production licence lies in the south-eastern part of the North Sea and consists of the eastern part of block 10/4. Well 10/4-1 is the first exploration well in this production licence. 

Last week, the company said it is selling a package of assets on the Norwegian Continental Shelf for US$ 602 million. 

Meanwhile, Scandinavia also witnessed some movements in the downstream segment.  

Finland’s Gasum said it is selling its local distribution networks to SL Capital Partners, in order to focus on LNG distribution infrastructure and renewable biogas.
