Noble Energy to Develop Mediterranean Gas

Noble Energy is keen to develop Israel’s offshore Mediterranean  natural gas reserves and seeking proposals from several liquefied natural gas contractors to develop a regional LNG plant, said its Chief Operating Officer Dave Stover.

The company, which has partnered with Israel's Delek Group, has the Leviathan, Tamar, Dalit, and Noa fields in mind for development.

The Texas-based firm also has a concession to Cyprus's Block 12 offshore Mediterranean field, located near Leviathan, Israel’s Globes business newspaper reported.

Noble Energy CEO Charles Davidson said that his company has still been evaluating the sites and their potential reserves.

"Before beginning, we need to know the scale of the project. Cyprus is still a potential opportunity for a hub for exporting," he said.
