Last June, JX NOE purchased a 10% stake in Petronas LNG 9, which owns the ninth LNG liquefaction train within the complex. The train has a production capacity of 3.6mn metric tons/yr and started production on January 1. JX NOE’s entry into Petronas LNG 9 marked its second participation in Petronas’ LNG projects, in addition to its existing 10% equity interest in MLNG Tiga.

With the launch of the ninth train, the Petronas LNG complex now has the capacity to produce about 30mn mt/yr, JX NOE said.
