Bloomberg: Nigeria Draws From LNG Company’s Dividend to Pay Workers’ Wages

Nigeria will use a $2.1 billion dividend paid into the Treasury by Nigeria LNG Ltd., Africa’s biggest producer of liquefied natural gas, to pay salaries owed government workers.

Nigeria’s federal, state and local governments will also be able to take “soft loans” from a central bank intervention, President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Femi Adesina, said Tuesday in an e-mailed statement from the capital, Abuja.
