The Guardian: Nigeria: 'Gas to Deliver 30,000MW Electricity By 2020'

Gas has been identified to be the greatest source of power generation in the foreseeable future in the country.

Specifically, by 2020, an estimated power capacity of about 30,000 MW of electricity is expected to be base primarily on gas.

The Acting Chairman, Presidential Taskforce on Power, Engr. Clement Adeyinka Oke, made this assertion the indigenous oil summit 2014, tagged: “Building Capacity and Highlighting the Local Industry” in Lagos.

According to him, there is huge gas resource base of about 187 tcf in Nigeria to support the current agenda of the energy sector.
