L&M Energy Progresses at Kaitangata CSG project

New Zealand's L&M Energy has intersected 8.6 metres of coal in one drill hole at the Kaitangata coal seam gas project, media reports said Monday.

Kaitangata is located 60 kilometres south of Dunedin in New Zealand in the Kaitangata coal field.

The second well of a multi-well program at the project, Lockington-2, has reached a total depth of 315 metres, intersecting 8.6 metres of cumulative coal across four seams.

A total of 13 cored coal samples have been taken for further analysis, including the measurement of gas content and saturation levels, with results expected in early 2012.

Results from geophysical logs to confirm coal thickness are also pending.
