Neptune Hails Milestone at Algerian Gas Project

Neptune Energy announced on June 29 the transfer of day-to-day operations at the Touat gas facility in Algeria to Groupement Touat Gaz (GTG) consortium, of which it is a member.

The Touat project began exporting gas in September last year and since then, operations have been carried out by Spanish contractor Tecnicas Reunidas. The handover comes after a performance acceptance certificate was signed between GTG and Tecnicas on June 24.

The Touat facility near Adrar comprises 19 development wells, a gas treatment plant for gas and stabilised condensate with a gathering network and export pipelines. It achieved platform production in April 2020 and accounts for 9% of Algeria's total gas exports.

GTG is 65% owned by Neptune Energy Touat and 35% by Sonatrach. Neptune Energy Touat is in turn 54% controlled by Neptune and 46% by France's Engie.
