Nakilat smashes record with $395mn profit in 2022

Qatari state-owned shipping firm Nakilat on February 13 reported a record profit of 1.44bn riyals ($395mn) in 2022, up 6.3% year/year owing to portfolio diversification and fleet expansion.

The company’s revenue stood at 4.4bn riyals, up 6.3% yr/yr. It has announced a cash dividend of 0.13 riyals/share.

“Through the recent strategic expansion of the company’s fleet with an additional four LNG carriers, and the improved performance of its joint ventures operating in the drydock, demonstrating our commitment to innovative sustainability and operational excellence,” said Abdullah Al-Sulaiti, CEO of Nakila.

“The addition to our fleet has allowed Nakilat to increase its fleet capacity and increase operational efficiency, giving us a competitive advantage at a time when the company is expanding its portfolio in the global transportation market by constantly searching for growth opportunities that benefit its shareholders in the long term,” he added.

Nakilat has a fleet of 74 vessels including 69 LNG carriers, four LPG carriers and one FSRU.
