Naftogaz: Ukraine's Largest Taxpayer

Naftogaz paid hryvnia 106.0bn ($3.8bn) in taxes and dividends to the state budget in 2017, the Ukrainian monopoly said January 3. That includes hryvnia 14.3bn of corporation tax, hryvnia 30.2bn of VAT, hryvnia 33.9bn of royalties and hryvnia 13.3bn of dividends. Naftogaz’ contribution to the state budget in 2017 was almost one and half times more than it paid in 2016.

Payments from Naftogaz group accounted for nearly 14% of total revenues of the state budget in 2017, compared with hryvnia 68.8bn spent on defence and hryvnia 51.1bn of state gas subsidies for households.

Naftogaz group remains the biggest taxpayer to Ukraine’s state budget, as it was the previous year.
