Mozambique's Buzi Block May Hold More gas

Mozambique’s state oil and gas company Empresa Nacional de Hidrocarbonetos (ENH) has found gas in the Buzi block and reports suggest that the block may contain more gas.

Seismic surveys was carried out by Gelombang Seismic Indonesia (GSI) and following this seismic survey test wells would be drilled in 2014 to determine the exact amount of gas in the block, local newspaper Notícias reported.

Speaking at a recent press conference, Buzi district administrator, Thomas Joseph said that there are no figures but the results witnessed are satisfactory, the newspaper reported.

The Búzi block is made up of the districts of Búzi, Machanga and Chibabava, and the first oil and gas surveys were carried out there in the 1960s.
