MoU Signed for Construction of LNG Terminal in Indian State of Andhra Pradesh

Krishnapatnam Port in Indian state of Andhra Pradesh's Nellore has signed an MoU with Petrogas Pvt. Ltd. and the Andhra Pradesh government for setting up LNG regassification terminal, according to media agency IANS.

Petrogas is a joint venture between Malaysia’s Isomeric Holdings Sdn Berhad and India based LEPL Ventures Private Limited.

The terminal will initially have a capacity 5 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) which will be doubled to 10 million MT in another three years, IANS reported citing a statement from Krishnapatnam Port. Commercial operation is likely to start in three years.

In December, Malaysia’s special envoy to India and South Asia for infrastructure Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu told the media that Petronas should be given priority to supply LNG to the terminal.
