Mitsubishi Power commissions CCGT in Indonesia

Mitsubishi Power has completed the installation and commissioning of a 500 MW natural gas-fired combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power generation system for the Muara Karang power plant in Indonesia, it said on October 28.

The facility was built on the northwestern coast of Java by Indonesia's state-owned electricity provider PLN (Persero). Mitsubishi Power is also supporting the maintenance and management of the CCGT system. The Muara Karang power plant is located approximately 10 km northwest of the capital city of Jakarta.

The Japanese company received the order for the full turnkey engineering, procurement, and construction solution for the CCGT power generation system, together with local state-owned civil construction firm Wijaya Karya (Persero). Mitsubishi Power supplied the M701F gas turbine, while Mitsubishi Electric Corporation supplied the electric generator systems.
