Eni, Mediterranean Oil and Gas Begin Production on Guendalina gas field

Italian company Mediterranean Oil and Gas Plc  has announced that production had begun on the Guendalina gas field, an offshore gas gas field located in 42 metres of water, off the northeast coast of Italy.

Mediterranean Oil and Gas hold an 20 percent interest in the field, with fellow Italian company Eni holding an 80 percent stake as operator of the field.

MOG say that the field has been independently certified to hold 2P gas reserves of 22 Bcf, and will produce approximately 20 MMcf/day of gas.

Speaking on behalf of Mediterranean Oil and Gas, CEO Sergio Morandi said that the production was an important step for the company.

"We are extremely pleased to announce that gas production at the Guendalina field has commenced," he said. "The start up of Guendalina gas production is a key milestone in the development of the company's business plan that will significantly increase the company's net gas production and revenue."
