McDermott finishes modular green hydrogen units

Engineering firm McDermott International said April 12 it had completed work on modular facilities in coordination with New Energy Development that will produce green hydrogen.

Each of the two modular units has the capacity to produce nearly 24,000 kg/d of renewable hydrogen and can be bolted on to existing power-generation facilities, among other things.

"As we look toward the future, we strongly believe that hydrogen will have a very prominent role and we will continue to apply our collective expertise to make that future a reality," Matthew Harwood, McDermott's senior vice president of strategy, risk and sustainability, said.

The project included CB&I Storage Solutions as a strategic partner.
