McDermott Appoints New COO
US contractor McDermott International said, effective July 3, it has appointed Samik Mukherjee (pictured below) as its new executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Prior to his appointment, he was TechnipFMC's executive vice president of corporate development, strategy, mergers and acquisitions, digital and IT. He joined Technip in 1998 and subsequently led its business unit for Africa, serving as managing director in India, before moving to France to be its global subsea business chief, and later its SVP of onshore-offshore for Europe, Middle East, India and Africa.
He has studied chemical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, and business administration at the Erasmus University in the Netherlands and at Harvard Business School.
McDermott completed its merger with US rival CB&I on May 10.
