Malaysian Subsea Gas Job Goes to TechnipFMC

Paris-based global contractor TechnipFMC said November 3 it had been awarded a subsea contract on a key offshore Malaysian gas development.

It said the contract, value of which it did not disclose, was awarded by Murphy Sabah Oil for the Phase 1A Block H Gas Development Project, offshore Sabah at a water depth of some 1,300 meters.

The contract covers the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation and Commissioning (EPCIC) of the umbilicals, risers and flowlines as well as the transportation and installation of subsea hardware and controls. TechnipFMC said the 'inbound' order was already included in its 2Q results.

Murphy Oil did not cite the contract award in its latest 3Q results November 1, but said its average price realised for its natural gas sold in Malaysia (Sarawak) in 3Q2017 of $3.50/'000 ft3.
