Malaysian Petronas Names New CEO

Malaysian state-run Petronas June 6 said Tengku Muhammad Taufik Tengku Aziz, the company’s executive vice president and group CFO will take charge as president and group CEO with effect from July 1, 2020. Tengku Muhammad Taufik will replace Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin who took charge as CEO in April 2015.

According to Petronas, Tengku Muhammad Taufik has 20 years’ worth of experience in financial reporting, feasibility reviews, project analysis, capital projects restructuring, and risk management with a primary focus on the oil and gas industry.

Wan Zulkiflee has been appointed as chairman of Malaysia Airlines.
