Malaysia Marine delivers topside for Jerun gas project offshore Malaysia

Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE) has delivered the Central Processing Platform (CPP) topside for the SK408W Jerun gas field development project offshore Malaysia, it announced on March 13 through a LinkedIn post.

The CPP topside, boasting a weight of approximately 15,000 tonnes, underwent crossover and sailaway operations on February 25. It will be installed alongside its 11,200-tonne jacket at the Jerun gas field located offshore Bintulu, Sarawak.

Upon completion of installation, the Jerun gas field is poised to produce an average contract quantity (ACQ) of 550mn ft³/day. Notably, the condensate extracted will be blended into the Jerun gas stream for combined export to shore via a newly constructed export pipeline, strategically routed towards the existing E11R-B platform, currently operated by SK Gas.

SapuraOMV is the operator of SK408W block, with Shell and Petronas Carigali holding 30% equity interest, each.

In a recent development, France’s TotalEnergies has agreed to acquire a 50% interest in SapuraOMV Upstream, a Malaysian joint venture between Austria's OMV and Sapura Energy, for a total consideration of $903mn. This agreement includes the transfer of a $350mn loan previously extended by OMV to SapuraOMV.
