Malaysia Delivers Maiden Cargo to S-Oil

Malaysian state producer Petronas delivered its first LNG cargo to South Korean Oil Refining Company, S-Oil April 22. In a statement April 24 it said the delivery marked the beginning of a 15-year sale and purchase agreement covering up to 0.7mn metric tons/yr.

The cargo came from Bintulu and docked at the Posco Gwangyang Terminal, carried by Puteri Zamrud Satu which was chartered by Malaysia LNG and operated by subsidiary MISC.

Petronas said that it remained "committed to becoming the most reliable LNG supplier, through innovative and flexible solutions to accommodate the different needs of our buyers,” but did not say what was innovative or flexible about this contract.
