Lundin Appoints New Top Execs

Sweden's Lundin Petroleum has appointed a new CEO and a new COO, it announced in statements on August 18 and 21.

Nick Walker, who has been Lundin's COO since 2015, will replace CEO Alex Schneiter, who has decided to step down after five years. Meanwhile Daniel Fitzgerald will take Walker's position. Fitzgerald is the COO of International Petroleum Corp, a Canadian firm spun off from Lundin in 2017. Both men will assume the new roles at the start of next year.

Schneiter oversaw an eight-fold increase in Lundin's production during his tenure, the company noted, and spearheaded the development of its strategy to decarbonise by 2030. He will remain on the board as a non-executive director and will also serve in an advisory role for the wider Lundin group.

Walker has almost 30 years of industry experience with a technical and operational background, and has a strong relationship with the investment and financial community, Lundin said. The pair will work closely over the next five months to ensure a smooth transition.
