Linde to Despatch Amur Plant Parts in June

Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and the CEO of Linde Aldo Belloni (below) met in Moscow April 11 to discuss their co-operation in the planned Amur gas processing plant (AGPP), the Russian gas exporter said.

Gazprom said: "The parties addressed the ongoing co-operation, placing an emphasis on the AGPP construction project involving Linde. It was noted that the project’s main phase was progressing on schedule. Specifically, supply and assembly of Linde’s equipment is underway for cryogenic gas – notably helium –separation facilities of the GPP’s first production lines. The heavy parts of those facilities will be shipped via the Zeya River starting this summer."

The AGPP (site shown above) will be the largest gas processing plant in Russia and one of the biggest in the world, with a design capacity of 42bn m³/yr. The plant will have six production lines, with the first two lines slated for commissioning in 2021. In addition to natural gas, the GPP will produce ethane, propane, butane, pentane-hexane fraction, and helium. It is part of the Power of Siberia project, taking gas from the Chayanda and Kovykta fields in eastern Siberia to the border with China in the far east of the country. Full capacity is put at 38bn m³/yr and will ramp up gradually with first deliveries in December 2020.

The Linde meeting is at least the Gazprom CEO's second with a top western CEO since US sanctions were imposed against Miller personally on April 6
