Libya Finds Two New Gas Deposits

Libya has discovered two new gas deposits southwest of the capital Tripoli, state-run National Oil Corp (NOC) said Wednesday.

The National Oil Corp and PGNiG found gas in the Murzeq Basin, 750 kilometers southwest of Tripoli. The well flowed gas at a rate of 4 million cubic feet per day of gas.

Another consortium of NOC, Algeria's Sonatrach, Oil India and Indian Oil discovered gas in the Ghadames basin, some 800 km Southwest of Tripoli.  The well flowed at a rate of 10 million cubic feet per day.

Libya holds 52.8 trillion cubic feet of proven natural gas reserves, according to data from the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
