Kogas' April Gas Sales Sharply Up on Year

South Korean state Korea Gas Corporation’s (Kogas) April 2018 natural gas sales volumes were 2.74mn metric tons, 28.6% year on year, it said May 9.

Sales to the retail segment increased by 6.3% to 1.4mn mt thanks to jump in demand for residential and industrial usage due to below average temperature and price competitiveness against competitive fuels. Sales to power sector increased to 1.35mn, up 64% from a year earlier.

Sales volume for power generation has witnessed a year on year increase for five consecutive months since December 2017, Kogas said.
