KKR and Oranje-Nassau Energie Join to Find Energy Investments

Dutch private company Oranje-Nassau Energie has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with investment firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company (KKR) to jointly pursue potential investment opportunities in the upstream oil and gas sector.

Oranje said they would particularly focus on investment opportunities in north-west Europe.

“We are delighted to team-up with KKR as this cooperation will accelerate the implementation of our growth strategy through acquisitions of operated and non-operated assets,” said Oranje chief executive, Alexander Berger.

“With this MoU, our total investment capacity will significantly increase, thereby greatly widening the scope of assets that can be pursued.”

Oranje has operated and non-operated production assets off the Netherlands and non-operated offshore positions in the UK and Gabon.

Last year KKR published a report on the potential for shale gas extraction in Europe.
