Kazakhstan, France Create Joint Venture on Production of Industrial Gases

A subsidiary of JSC "NC" KazMunayGas" - JSC “KazMunayGas - refining and marketing” and the French company “Air Liquide” have signed a shareholders agreement on creation of the Kazakh-French joint venture for the production of industrial gases, the press service of the Kazakh company said.

The agreement provides for the withdrawal to the outsourcing of existing plants for the production of hydrogen, nitrogen and other industrial gases to refineries in Atyrau, Pavlodar and Shymkent, ownership and management of installations, as well as the construction of outsourced new technical facilities for the production of industrial gases.

The project is supposed to transfer the operational know-how methods by French partners who apply the best international practices in the production of industrial gases, compliance with the principles of "green economy" and increase energy efficiency in the manufacturing process.

Air Liquide operates in 80 countries with 410 plants for the production of atmospheric gases, more than 80 plants for the production of hydrogen.

*Supplies of nitrogen and hydrogen in terms of outsourcing is planned to begin in 2016.

Note that the “KazMunayGaz” company has 100 percent of stocks in Pavlodar petrochemical complex, 99.5 percent of Atyrau oil refinery company and 49.7 percent of control package in Shymkent Oil Refinery Company.
