Jereh to Develop CBM Resources in China's Yunnan Province

Chinese oil and gas engineering firm Jereh has signed an agreement to develop coal bed methane (CBM) resources in Qujing Fuyuan County in China's Yunnan province.

The company has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Qujing Fuyuan County government for local CBM development and comprehensive utilization and optimization of local energy structure and maximizing social and economic benefits.

Yunan has approximately 450 billion cubic meters CBM, ranking the third in China and the coal industry has dominated Fuyuan County’s economic development. However in recent years, in order to reduce the pollution from coal exploration, the government is paying more attentions to cleaner energy sources like CBM.

“Backed by Jereh’s leading edges in EPC services and equipment manufacturing, we believe this cooperation will promote Fuyuan County’s CBM utilization and contribute to the transition of local low-carbon energy structure,” the company said in a statement.
