Japan's LNG Imports in Jan Drop

Japan’s LNG imports in January stood at 7.51mn metric tons, down 0.5% yr/yr, according to the provisional data released by the country’s finance ministry on February 19.

Imports were, however, up month-on-month from 6.8mn mt in December 2019. Japan remains the world's biggest LNG importer. Last year, country's LNG imports were 77.32mn mt, down 6.7% on 2018.
