Japan's LNG imports down 4% in November

Japanese LNG imports in November came in at 5.33mn tonnes, down 3.9% year/year, according to provisional data released by Japan's finance ministry on December 20.

The cost of Japanese LNG imports last month decreased by 34.1% year/year, to 493.8bn yen (about $3.2bn).

In 2022, Japan surpassed China to reclaim its position as the world's largest LNG importer. Its LNG imports for the year stood at 71.99mn tonnes, down 3.1% year/year.
