Jera's New LNG Vessel Named

Japan’s Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha (K Line) and Tokyo Century Corporation August 7 named a newly-built LNG carrier at Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Sakaide Shipyard, K Line said August 8. The carrier will be delivered to Japan’s Jera.

The new vessel was named Enshu Maru and it will mainly serve the transportation route between Freeport LNG project in United States and Japan. The carrier has tank capacity of 164,700 m3 and is powered by a reheat steam turbine.

Jera, a joint venture between Tokyo Gas and Chubu Electric, has a 25% stake in the Freeport LNG project.
