Japan's January LNG Imports Drop

Japan’s LNG imports in January stood at 7.55mn metric tons, down 8.7% year-on-year, according to the provisional data released by Japan’s finance ministry February 20.

Last month's imports, however, were higher month-on-month. In December 2018, Japan imported 7.25mn mt of LNG. 

Japan’s is the world’s biggest LNG importer and imports in 2018 dropped 0.9% year-on-year to 82.8mn mt.
