Japan's 2019 LNG Imports Drop

Japan’s LNG imports last year were 77.32mn mt, down 6.7% on the previous year, according to the provisional data released by country’s finance ministry on January 23.

In December, Japan imported 6.8mn metric tons, down 6.2% yr/yr. However, imports were up month-on-month from 6.27mn mt in November.

Japan remains the world biggest LNG importer.
