Japan's Kyushu, NYK Line Eye Bunkering

Japanese NYK Line and Kyushu Electric Power have signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate in the field of LNG transport utilising NYK's fleet, Kyushu said June 29.

According to the MoU, Kyushu will use NYK’s vessels for short-term demand of LNG transport which is expected to improve the flexibility of LNG transportation. The two parties will also consider possibility of joint implementation of businesses such as LNG supply and LNG bunkering.

Also, NYK has assigned LNG carrier Grace Barleria, with capacity of 100,450 metrric tons, to Kyushu this month for transport of LNG, including from Australian Wheatstone project.
