Japanese LNG imports down 12% in Feb

Japanese LNG imports in February came in at 7.1mn metric tons, down 11.9% year/year, according to the data published by the country’s finance ministry on March 16. The imports were up 4.7% month/month, however.

Japan’s shipments last month cost 676.22bn yen ($5.72bn), up 65.3% yr/yr. In 2021, Japanese imports were 74.31mn mt, down about 0.2% yr/yr.
