Japanese JGC to Build Gas Pipeline, Storage in Bahrain

Japan’s JGC Corporation has been awarded a $98.7mn engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning contract by Bahrain National Gas Expansion Company (BNGEC) for gas pipeline and gas storage facility at Awali, Bahrain, the company said October 5. The project is scheduled for completion in September, 2018.

This project is intended to construct feed gas and product gas transfer pipelines and product gas storage tanks to be used for the gas processing plant for which JGC signed a construction $355mn contract with BNGEC in January this year. The produced oil component gases (LPG and naphtha) shipped from the storage facilities will be exported from Bahrain.

This contract forms the second part of the Bahrain Gas Plant project (BGP Part 2) at BNGEC.
