J Power, Origin plan ammonia project in Australia

Japanese power utility J Power and Australian energy company Origin Energy have signed a memorandum of understanding to work together on a green ammonia export project in Bell Bay, Tasmania. The pair will also assess whether it is feasible to supply the green ammonia to J Power, the Japanese company said on October 7.

“We intend to accelerate the practical application of green ammonia to co-firing by acquiring expertise of the green ammonia business and conducting studies to procure green ammonia that will be needed in the future at a stable and inexpensive cost,” J Power said.
