Ithaca Picks New CEO

North Sea-focused Ithaca Energy has appointed Bill Dunnett as its new CEO, replacing Les Thomas, the company reported on August 24.

Dunnett is a chartered engineer with over 35 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, having held operational and senior management positions in the UK and internationally. He served as CEO of Repsol-Sinopec Resources UK, a joint venture between Spain's Repsol and China's Sinopec with North Sea assets, for five years until his contract expired at the end of March.

Dunnett previously held posts at Petrofac, Halliburton, Mobil North Sea and Shell. He has also served as chair of the MER UK Technology Leadership Board and has been a board member of both OGUK and the Oil and Gas Technology Centre.

Ithaca has been a subsidiary of Israel's Delek Group since 2017. Last November it took over Chevron's UK North Sea assets for $2bn, netting 80,000 barrels of oil equivalent/day of extra production. Thomas has led the company for the last seven years.
