Iraq invites bids for 11 gas blocks

Iraq's oil ministry has announced the invitation for bids from energy companies to develop 11 gas blocks in the country, state-owned Iraqi News Agency reported on June 18.

The ministry has completed its preparations for the launch of the sixth licensing round to auction off these 11 blocks. Most of these blocks are located in the Anbar province.

The gas extracted from these blocks will be utilised in power generation, industrial activities, and for the overall development of the local area, as stated by the ministry. Both national and international companies interested in exploring and developing these gas resources are eligible to participate in this licensing round.
