Iran's Kish Gas Field to Start Pumping Gas by March

Iran’s offshore Kish gas field will most likely begin flowing gas by March of next year, news agency Shana reports.

The field is expected to pump 100 million cubic feet (mcf) per day of natural gas, according to project’s operator Homayoun Kazemeini, adds Shana.

“The necessary gas for the power plant in Kish Island will be supplied from two wells in this field,” Kazemeini said, adding that one well alone will be enough to supply the necessary energy, reports ShanaEach well will be able to produce 100 mcf/d of gas.

Kish gas field is the largest independent gas reservoir in Iran. It is estimated to contain around 66 trillion cubic feet of gas and 514 million barrels of gas condensate in the depth of 4,400 meters. The field is potentially capable of producing three to five billion cubic feet of gas a day.
