Iran's Gas Output to Rise Twofold in Three Years

Iran’s natural gas production will increase by more than twofold over the next three years, Press Tv has reported quoting country’s Oil Minister Rostam Qasemi.

“According to [our] planning, the country's gas production capacity will reach 1.4 billion cubic meters (bcm) per day within the next three years,” Qasemi was reported as saying. He further added that Iran will export gas to more number of neighbouring countries by 2015.

The central Asian nation has been under sanction from US and EU pertaining to its energy and financial sectors and Iran wants to grow its energy export in its neighbouring countries.

Recently, Turkey said that it will continue to import Iranian oil and gas. Some reports said this week that Iran’s daily gas exports to Turkey has hit a record of 31.5 million cubic meters.
